CHAPTER HOUSE UPDATE

Please check this page often for updates to the current status of the Epsilon Eta Chapter House. We are working hard to get the structural issues resolved quickly. The information provided below is the latest from the Board of Trustees:

An intital assesement has been completed by the
Engineering firm contracted with AXD. The
construction contractors bidding on the repair have
asked for additonal information. The Engineering firm
is expected to be able to provide this additonal
information by the end of this week. The contractors
should then be able to provide bids to make the
necessary repairs and an estimate of
time-to-completion.

The ATO Chapter House was evacuated Sunday night August 28th due to concern over the structural safety of the house related to a possible failure of a main support beam in the basement. Live-in Chapter members were put up at the Kellogg Center, courtesy of the Red Cross. The E. Lansing Fire Department, City of E. Lansing, MSU Student Affairs, ATO Headquarters, and the landlord Alpha Xi Delta have all been informed and involved in this matter. Inspections and assessments are being made as to what corrective action needs to be taken to permanently repair the foundation and insure the safety of the facility. An estimate for the time of completion is not yet available, but we hope to have an update very soon.
