A Message from the newly elected Chapter President
Greetings fellow Taus, My name is Alex Brown and I am the new chapter president for the 2005 academic year. This year is looking up for all of us. We are planning on having a few different philanthropy events including a softball tournament closer to the end of the second semester, a paint ball tournament among other fraternities on campus, and Greek Week in early April. Currently we have 22 brothers residing in our house this year with approximately 25 brothers living in next year. Spring Semester rush turned out great. We have a total of 14 guys, the largest pledge class on campus among other fraternities as well as being one of the largest spring semester pledge classes, if the not largest spring pledge class ever at Michigan State University. The house is good condition, needs a few touch ups here and there, which will be taken care of soon. A large number of brothers are planning on living in this summer and helping out with cleaning, landscaping and fixing up the house wherever need be. I believe it's going to be a great year for us and we are all looking forward to hopefully purchasing this house and continuing to build traditions in our new home at Michigan State University.
VTL,
Alex Brown

Notes from the desk of Kevin Kyde

My first interaction with the chapter was with the Epsilon Eta Chapter President, Colin Land, at Congress this past summer. We talked a little bit about some of the challenges Epsilon Eta was dealing with and how he and the current brothers had many ideas to help improve the Epsilon Eta chapter. The chapter was facing one big issue that was handed down, a rather large debt at National Headquarters (NHQ). The chapter dealt with this issue and others very well, with numerous fundraisers and keeping the chapter members more accountable in all areas especially their financial obligations.
The chapter has recruited very well over the past few semesters to keep their chapter size stable at about 60 members. The chapter ran into another hurdle mid-year, when they learned that they were going to have to move into a new house starting next year. I have been very impressed with all the efforts that the chapter and some alumni have done to see to it that this chapter will continue its history at Michigan State. I look forward to working with this chapter again this year and trust Epsilon Eta will continue its positive growth in all areas.
